Bears Aloud mini Biography

Bears Aloud started two years ago by five guys who on a drunken night out decided what fun it would be to raise some money for a local HIV Charity. Whilst sat in a bar talking about it lo and behold ‘The Promise’ by Girls Aloud suddenly blared from the jukebox.

With five of us sat around the table we thought what a perfect idea to get five hairy guys, otherwise known on the scene as ‘Bears’ and mix it with performing to Girls Aloud numbers. Those of you who haven’t worked it out yet, this is where our name has come from.

After deciding that there would only be a limited amount of numbers we could do, we all decided that we would perform numbers by any girl band and a few examples: The Spice Bears, Sugarcubs, Nolan Bears, Pussycat Bears and many more besides.

As a group we didn’t think for one minute that we would achieve the success that we have. We started off our humble existence at Blayd’s bar in Leeds and without the support of our fancubs we would not be where we are today. We have been fortunate to travel the length and breadth of the country performing from London to Belfast, and even making our name on the international circuit in Gran Canaria.

Bears Aloud will bring you a show full of camp, comedy and CAKE!!!! Well maybe not the cake but definitely the camp and the comedy where you will be smiling from ear to ear as we promise you a fun time from the Hairiest, Bearist Girl Band on the scene.

Janie Voltaire - THE SHIRLEY BASSEY EXPERIENCE

Known as “ Miss Showbiz “ for her spectacular theatrical performances Janie has been a popular cabaret artiste for many years.

Encouraged by her Mother a well known big band singer of the 40`s and her musician Father she started singing and dancing almost before she could walk.

Working as a professional dancer Janie performed in some of the best cabaret venues in the world including Casino San Remo in Italy, Hong Kong`s Kingsland Theatre Restaurant and Auberge Des Pyramides in Cairo .

When she eventually returned to England Janie was immediately accepted into major productions and toured the country singing and dancing in everything from stage musicals to cabaret, pantomime to musical comedy. She was one of the most sought after cabaret stars in the country and was one of the best high kickers in the business picking up 13 clubland awards including the prestigious Blackpool Command Show.

TV appearances include Monty Python, 321, The Racing Game, Boon, Emmerdale , Brookside, Sherlock Holmes and Across The Lake with Anthony Hopkins.

After touring and working in clubland for many years Janie spent some time working in Spain. A popular all round entertainer she could be seen night after night in major hotels, nightclubs and restaurants, entertaining holiday audiences up and down the Costa Blanca with her show “ THE SHIRLEY BASSEY EXPERIENCE”

Janie is now based permanently in Yorkshire bringing her entertaining performances to UK audiences.
